About BUFO Paint

BUFO Paint isn’t just a business - it’s a reflection of what we believe in and our family.

BUFO Paint is located in Albany Creek, but we work throughout the North side of Brisbane. We are a family business, our managing director Aaron was taught to paint by his father, now Aaron’s daughter and partner are key parts of BUFO Paint.

At BUFO Paint, our mission is to enrich and revitalise homes and commercial spaces through exceptional craftsmanship, integrity, and genuine care. With over 25 years of professional experience, we are committed to delivering high-quality, personalised painting solutions that elevate the beauty, value, and longevity of every space we touch.

We believe great work goes beyond the surface. That’s why we prioritise sustainable practices, premium products, clear communication, and workmanship we proudly stand behind. Just as importantly, we are dedicated to investing in our community by training and mentoring young people to become skilled, professional painters, passing on our trade with pride, discipline, and heart.

Through excellence in craft and commitment to people, we aim to create spaces, and futures, that we can all be proud of.

Careers

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is training local youth, giving them lifelong skills, strong work ethics and real opportunities to support their communities. At BUFO Paint we think of this program as “our family, training your kids to paint your neighbour’s house.”

BUFO Paint offers a four-year apprenticeship in Painting & Decorating that leads to a Certificate III, qualifying apprentices as fully trained painters and decorators. Our apprenticeship combines full-time paid work, hands-on learning and practical theory, so trainees gain both job experience and industry knowledge. Graduates can pursue careers in painting, often with us, or many choose to start their own painting businesses.

This year you may see BUFO Paint at your local schools’ careers days as we reach out to a broader and more diverse group of young people of all genders, nationalities and backgrounds. Our goal is not just to employ local youth, but to give them the tools and opportunity to build a career they love.

Our Commitment to Community & Careers

Community

One of BUFO Paint’s core principles is respect - for our planet and for the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work.

  • Community partnerships: We volunteer our office time to a local not-for-profit that supports community programs. Much of our involvement focuses on events and activities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, including participation in the Educators Learning Circle. We welcome conversation about these nights and invite anyone interested to join us.

  • Presence and relationship-building: You may see Aaron and his family at community events connected to local culture. Our team is regularly invited to attend, and we extend that invitation to clients and partners.

  • Workplace culture and on-site behavior: On larger construction sites we work alongside people from many backgrounds. BUFO Paint’s team is committed to creating an inclusive, respectful environment - treating everyone with dignity, calling out disrespectful conduct, and supporting colleagues who may need help. We prioritise clear expectations and lead by example. Within our team we see the value in workplace diversity because it brings fresh ideas, new perspectives and better problem solving. Different cultures and viewpoints enrich team conversations and boost creativity which is something we actively encourage and seek.

  • BUFO Paint is working with Reconciliation Australia to develop and implement a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for our business. A RAP is a formal commitment to advance reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through targeted actions that build relationships, foster respect, and create opportunities. Although many of these practices are already part of how we operate, formalising them in a RAP helps us strengthen accountability, identify areas for improvement, and ensure our efforts are consistent, meaningful, and sustained.

  • Environmental respect: We integrate sustainable practices into our work wherever possible — from waste reduction on site to choosing products with lower environmental impact — because respect for country includes caring for the environment.
